War on Average: encouraging each other not to be satisfied with mediocre
So why is this blog called War on Average? It’s not just because Guerra means war.
I don’t want to be satisfied with mediocrity—in any area of life. I don’t want to settle for mediocre faith, or mediocre health, or being a mediocre wife, mom, friend, daughter, etc. But we live in a lowest common denominator society where as long as you feel like you’re a little better than the next person, you’re okay. But it’s not about them. It’s about us striving for our best—and God’s best. That’s why it’s a war—an active fight. So why not call it War on Mediocrity? Because I am a mediocre speller (working on it), fully dependent on spell check and when I sent my husband, Ryan, that idea for the blog name, it was spelled wrong. War on average rolls off the tongue and the keyboard much better.
I hope you’ll join me in this journey. We talk a lot about health here—that’s my business. My husband and I run a health coaching company: Guerra Health and Fitness. Our passion is to create healthier lives for people and families through education, coaching, nutrition counseling, and providing trustworthy, quality products. So this truly is a great platform to educate and coach. We believe in being good stewards of the bodies God gave us, and taking care of little bodies He has entrusted to us.
But you will find a variety of posts and information here—because the war on average isn’t just about our health.
Thanks for joining me in this journey!

I love what you wrote! My husband and I must be older versions of you guys! We have been fighting the war of mediocrity all our lives – and as full-time college campus ministers, we have tried to pass this on to every generation we have been honored to have been a part of. I look forward to meeting you some day – and till then, I am going to attempt to follow your blogs and posts. Blessings!
